The Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, revealed plans to establish a panel of inquiry to address governance issues within the state. This decision was made public on Monday following the swearing-in of Dagogo Iboroma as the new Attorney General, after being confirmed by the Victor Oko-Jumbo-led House of Assembly.
Governor Fubara emphasized the urgent need for intervention, highlighting a deep-rooted political crisis that remains unresolved. He attributed the situation to deliberate acts of sabotage by his opponents and expressed determination to take decisive actions regardless of potential backlash.
In response to criticisms from former officials, including Zacchaeus Adangor and Alabo George-Kelly, Governor Fubara accused Adangor of undermining state interests and addressed George-Kelly’s claims about his career advancement within the civil service. Refuting the allegations, he asserted his current position as Governor was a result of divine intervention.
The announcement signals a pivotal moment in the governance of Rivers State as the panel prepares to investigate and address the challenges facing the administration.
