Lusaka’s Cholera Nightmare has caused 36 deaths of the One thousand Three Hundred and 85 case recorded from October this year.
Health Minister SYLVIA MASEBO has also disclosed that the province currently has 90 in admission Cholera facilities since the outbreak in October.
Ms. MASEBO says Kanyama is the most affected with 29 admissions followed by Chawama with 13 admissions while Matero currently has 10 cholera patients in admission.
She adds that others include Kalingalinga with Nine admissions, Chilanga with Eight patients in admission, and Chongwe with Six admissions among others.
Speaking during at a press briefing Ms. MASEBO emphasized the need for people to sustain hygiene practices to avoid spread and contracting the disease.
She further urged citizens to consider boiling their water before drinking or use chlorine as a safety measure.
Ms. MASEBO added that Government is working with multiple local and international stakeholders to ensure targeted and timely response activities.
